Viewing and editing Visio (.vsd) files

The Microsoft 365 (Office) suite comes pre-installed on the majority of Intero Integrity computers. This suite includes essential applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. It's worth noting that two applications, Microsoft Visio and Project, are not included in the default suite.

Viewing Visio (.vsd) files

To view a Visio file, you don't need to rely on the Windows version of Visio. Instead, you can conveniently view it online through Visio Online (https://visio.office.com)."

Upload the Visio file to OneDrive or to Visio for the web, and then open it using the Visio Online app. This app allows you to view, share, and even print Visio files without requiring you to install the desktop version of Visio.

Editing Visio (.vsd) files

However, if you need to edit a Visio file, you'll need the full-featured Windows-based version of Visio. To get access to this software, you will need to request a license from the Help desk. Your manager will need to approve the license cost (approximately 15 USD per month) before a Visio license can be assigned to your account.

Once you have a Visio license, you can download and install the software on your computer.

It's important to note that Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project licenses are subject to automatic unassignment if the software has not been used for a period of three months. If your license is unassigned due to inactivity, you'll need to request a new license from the Help desk to regain access to the software. It's recommended to use the software regularly to prevent your license from being unassigned.
