Prerequisites

Please make sure that:

  • The computer is completely switched off.
  • The computer is connected to the network via a physical network cable (not Wi-Fi).
  • If the device is a laptop, the power supply is connected.

Procedure

Turn the computer on and enter the BIOS

  • Switch on the computer by pressing the power button, then immediately press the F10 key repeatedly until the BIOS menu appears.

Select Update system BIOS

Click Check HP.com for BIOS Updates

Select the latest BIOS version:

  • If a BIOS update is available, click the Update button to install it
  • If no new BIOS is available, please press F10 to exit the BIOS and restart the computer

The new BIOS is now installing.

Note:
The BIOS update usually takes less than 5 minutes. Please do not power off or touch the computer during this time. Interrupting the update may cause permanent damage.
When the update has finished installing, the computer will restart and display the Windows logon screen.
